Powder Resorts Launch Ski Region in Fjord Norway

Norwegian Powder Skiing gets easier to explore – as five small Powder Resorts in the northern part of the Fjord Norway region launch a new ski pass – giving access to 25 lifts and 53 slopes in the Sunnmore region.

- This is good news for any skier searching untracked powder, says manager Hans Anders Rindhølen at Strandafjellet Skiresort. The "Alpepass" lift-pass is available from the 2008/2009-season on.

And to warn you: We are talking small-scale, draglift, no-fancy-restaurant style resorts. This is where you get the very essentials of skiing - good powder snow, nice terrain and good people - and basically nothing else.
-Almost every season we are rated top 10 list on average snowfall in Europe, says Rindhølen. For those of you that read subtitles in big International ski movies may recognize places such as Strandafjellet, Stryn and Fjellsetra. The Sunnmøre Alps mountain range is amazing also for ski touring and winter climbing, and the best winter surf of Europe is only two hours away - at Hoddevika, Stadlandet.
