Off piste skiing

Stryn is one of the best off piste resorts in Europe. If you can stand a little bit of hiking you have the best snow, and some really good trails to go up. Skåla is one of the most popular peaks for the summer time, but it’s getting more and more popular also for the wintertime. It’s the first thing the clouds have to pass on their travel from the Atlantic and in to the narrow pass trough the fjord. The fjord and the high mountains presses the clouds together and when they reach the end of the fjord were Skåla is situated the only way to continue is up and when the almost constant western winds presses the clouds up it has to drop some of its heavy load. This makes the inner Nordfjord one of the rainiest places in Europe and of course for the ones who likes to go up the mountains one of the snowiest ones. This phenomenon has during 10,000s of years created numerous glaciers where you can ski in the summer as well.

Excellent breakfast, with big variety. Delicious hot supper at reasonable price. Very effective and friendly staff, especially the manager. Very good common spaces. Only complaint is that more hooks are needed for towels and clothes in the bathroom of Room 102.

Amazing breakfast and nice staff ! Quiet place on the top of a hill, pleasant stay, located 15min of a rather hard walk from the bus station ! Rather old premises, but very clean.
