Bouldering
Melkevoll Bretun
In the summer of 1997 the mountain guides from Olden Aktiv started to climb the big rock in Melkevoll Bretun in Oldendalen. Now they have made the many routes available for everyone that is interested in climbing. Bouldering is a big sport in Europe but still not so famous in Norway. Today there is about 100 marked climbing boulders in use at Bretun. They are marked with number and difficulty level. There is still many unpolished and untried stones in Oldedalen, located near the Olden Spring.

Climbing
The development of the climbing field in Stryn started in 2001 by Vegard and Asbjørn. Two years later the cliff has 30 routes and can offer one of Norway's best climbing.
The wall called the Beach is easy to find next to the road between Stryn (7km) and Loen (5km) just by the little village Rake. You can park your car by the sandmind. From there it's a 5 min walk, follow the path allong the road toward Stryn, take a right toward the wall next to the big boulder. You will then arrive the wall in the right hand corner of the "Beach". The next sector "Bølgen" is located a short walk to the left.
Bølgen has vertical and slightly overhanging routes, both easy and medium hard, there is also some hard routes located around a small cave.
The beach is very steep and the routes are around 30m with an overhang of 8-10 m.
This wall is facing west and gets sun from 12 o'clock. During the summer it's unbearable after 14 o'clock. The wall is very steep and high and most routes stays dry even during rainy days. There is a nice relaxing area in front of the beach with some chairs.
