Stryn Hostel

Stryn Hostel and motel have 25 rooms, 12 with their own facilities and 13 with shower and toilet in the corridor. We have a fully equipped conference room with room for 10 people, and a bigger common room that can be set for conference. We have Wi-Fi and a guest computer with free internet.  We have guest kitchen, washing machine and tumble dryer. During the summer and during busy days in the winter we have a restaurant serving evening meals. We can provide catering all year long. During the summer we also provide catering dinner to some of the other hostels nearby.

History

Stryn Hostel was built by the germans during the war as a lodgement  for  the  soliders. During the war there was 4000 german soldiers sationated at stryn, mor than the population of Stryn it self. There were 16 perssons in eatch room sleaping in thre levels. To day this roms fill 4-8 perssons.  After the war it was used as hostel  owned by the Norwegian hostel organisation. In the late 40:s they sold it to the red cross who owned it until the 80: when  once again was used as hostel under the Norwegian hostel organization but owned buy a private couple. The hostel was sold in in April 2007 and are now owned by the same owner as to the Hellesylt and Ålesund hostel.
 

Stryn Hostel and the advirement

Stryn hostel and motel have a plan to become a green hostel.  It’s a long way to go even though we have Recyceling in the kitchen and the guest kitcen. We have changed all the ligt bolbs in the hostel to energy saving lamps.
We have plans to install a new edviremental friendly heating system and hope to do so during 2009.
  

Staff

Stryn Hostel and motel have four employees. One for breakfast  one for reception and one cheff  and  the manger is Johan Åberg and the owner is Einar aarne Åsestrand.
